Pilot Experience

Realization of a controlled pilot experience about application of the Roadmap and implementation of the generic Innovation Hub model among a limited number of partners (maximum four) in order to validate the feasibility of the best practices exchange. The objective is, on one side to test different aspects of the Innovation Hub structure in different settings and, on the other, to have one Hub exchanging experiences, advice and support to entrepreneurs and SMEs of another Hub.

In the first pilot, Nacka kommun and Getafe Iniciativas implement the common Innovation Hub model addressing entrepreneurial support from innovative ideas to innovative SMEs. The activities of this pilot are be centred around the local adaptation, testing and assessment of good practices about innovation production tools like the 72-hour race to innovation (developed by Prof. Kaj Mickos of Mälardalen University), or the application of creativity techniques to innovation generation. Also organizational models for innovation generation and support (centralized vs de-centralized) will be tried.

In the second pilot, Ballerup and Loures implement the common Innovation Hub model addressing innovative entrepreneurship and promotion of new SMEs through joint training/mentoring since the early years (Secondary School). The activities of this pilot include design, adaptation and implementation of specific curricula, profile developing for both trainers and attendants, selection procedures, and organizational requirements of training and educational centres.
